 While regular classes are always welcome to walk-ins, and most special events and pop up classes have unlimited space, some do not. If the event description says RSVP, please do so. We need to know the number of people showing up to class, either because of the set up that happens before class starts or limited space. Either way, if you do not pre register on our schedulicity account or by contacting the instructor, you may be turned away at the time of the event. pre/ postnatal yoga with Brynn Cunningham

Saturday, April 27, 10:30-11:30am | Tuesday, May 7, 6:00-7:00pm | Thursday May 16, 5:00-6:00pm


Join RYT-200 and mother or two boys Brynn Cunningham for a pre/postnatal yoga class to balance energy, refresh and strengthen the body, address common pregnancy and postpartum ailments and connect moms in a supportive environment. Vinyasa flow sequences will be combined with soothing stretches and stabilizing poses for the shoulders, hips and back. Light core and pelvic floor exercises with breath work will be incorporated with yoga postures. Blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets will be used. No yoga experience required. All levels. By donation. 

Class is recommended for moms 12 weeks pregnant and beyond, and for moms whose post-birth bleeding has ceased. It is also encouraged that mothers wait four to six weeks after vaginal delivery and eight to 12 weeks post-cesarean to attend. Women up to two years postpartum are welcome to join. 


Yoga for Runners with Foot Massage

Tuesday, April 30, 6:00-7:30pm


 Leah Staley, LMT & RYT, and Brynn Cunningham, RYT-200, both avid runners and yogis, bring you a unique Yoga for Runners experience, now including a Foot Massage! Beginning with a vinyasa-style yoga practice and dynamic sequence (designed to be performed pre-run as a warm-up), class will move seamlessly into sun salutations that link strength-building exercises and yoga poses targeting muscle groups specific to running. The physical portion of the workshop ends with a relaxing, cooling yin yoga and restorative-inspired flow accompanied by longer-held poses aimed at releasing connective tissue and common tight areas in the body due to running, using props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets. During the 20-30 minute cool-down, Leah Staley, LMT, will provide a therapeutic foot massage for each participant.

The workshop incorporates myo-fascial release exercises using foam rollers and therapy tools. Guided meditation and breath work (pranayama) designed to enhance running performance is interwoven throughout the practice.  Participants will receive electronic copies of the workshop's running resources via email post-workshop and must bring their own foam roller.

Open to all levels of runners (beginners to elite) and yoga practitioners (no experience to advanced).

The purpose of the workshop is to create a mind/body/spirit connection with running using yoga as a conduit and breathing as the primary guiding element so that running becomes a lifelong, easy, enjoyable, rhythmic practice, with yoga at it's core.

 Join Leann Beatty, LMT and Leah Staley, LMT & RYT, as they help you through a series of restorative yoga poses combined with relaxing acupressure and compression massage. Throughout the event, you will be guided through focused breath work and end with guided meditation. PRICE: $50 (you're basically receiving a Thai massage for a much cheaper price, you're welcome).

Gentle Flow with Amy Rhodes

 Join Amy Rhodes for another POP UP class at OmBody! This 60 minute class is perfect for regulars to Amy's class and beginners alike. Go through basic movements, become familiar (or re-familiar) with poses and body cues while stretching your muscles and exercising your body.

 Join Brynn Cunningham, avid runner and RYT-200, and Leah Staley, runner, yoga instructor and licensed massage therapist, for an exclusive , feel-good event! Luxuriate in therapeutic restorative and yin yoga postures supported by bolsters, pillows, blankets and other props while receiving the healing touch of sports massage, targeting muscles and connective tissue for optimal mobility, tension release and recovery. Special attention will be given to hips, legs, feet and shoulders. No yoga experience necessary. Simply relax and let go to rejuvenate and set the tone for your next run, race or training period.

 Cortny grew up spending most of her days playing outside and being surrounded by mother nature. While trying to find balance throughout her beginning college years, she began practicing yoga consistently in 2007. In 2011, Cortny received her 200-hour. yoga certification and by 2012 received her E-RYT 200-hour (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher). Cortny also holds a Prenatal/Postnatal yoga certification and is currently enrolled at Asheville Yoga Center working towards her 300-hour Advanced Training Studies. In addition to yoga, Cortny is presently finishing her last year of grad school in the field of elementary and special education and often holds yoga related events for children.

Join Leah Staley for an hour of slow flow sun salutations. As class progresses, strength and balance poses will be gently incorporated to build heat and energy. Class will end with grounding postures to build body awareness, as well as massage and bodywork in shavasana. Once class is finished, you are welcomed to stick around for OmBody’s version of brunch- bloody marys and mimosas!! Start your Saturday off right with a detox & retox while you hang out in our relaxation area and browse our growing art gallery. Grief Yoga Offering with Faith Sartori

I am honored to guide you through a transformative experience to assist you in releasing emotions that may be stored in your body related to ANY loss you have experienced.  This practice incorporates movement, breath, and sound, as vehicles for release. We all have a wide range of losses and no loss is more important than another.  
Join me for a 75 minute journey as we move through 4 distinct phases that make up the practice of Grief Yoga.    We will work towards building an awareness of what feelings we are holding on to and then move toward expressing them through movement and breath.  Next, we will move toward re connecting with feelings that fill us up with joy and finally surrender to the idea of letting go of pain while staying connected to love.  
This class is appropriate for all levels.  Yoga mats, bolsters, and blankets are available for use if needed.  
It is recommended that you bring a journal and something to drink (water is available) to the class.  
Class is donation based.

HIIT with Tara Spaw Fronczek

Join Tara Spaw Fronczek for her unique and thoughtfully crafted HIIT class. 

HIIT is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick bursts of low impact exercise, followed by short recovery periods. Pilates, ballet and barre inspired moves are incorporated to keep your heart rate up, therefor burning more fat in less time, while strengthening and lengthening muscles. This all over toning class is perfect for beginners looking to kickstart a healthier routine and fitness enthusiasts alike.   

Tara Spaw Fronczek holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a Jazz concentration from Point Park University, and an Associate in Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from California University of Pennsylvania. 

Tara spent several years as a professional dancer performing at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Holland America Cruise Lines, and Stiletto Entertainment.  For five years, Tara was the owner of Katy Lyon Dance Center, and now continues to teach at Lanzi Academy of Dance. She currently works full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant for Physical Therapy at the Orthopedic Group. 

In addition to her dance and P.T. education, Tara is a certified Pilates instructor in mat and Reformer, trained in manual myofascial release techniques, and holds a specialty certification in orthopedics PTA from Nxt Gen Institute of PT. 

Tara is thrilled to be a part of the OMBody family and is looking forward to connecting with all the great clients in our area.

Sunset Meditaion with leann beatty

 Using bolsters, blankets and pillows, find your way into the most comfortable pose for you to sit and breathe. Allow Leann to guide you through a series of chakra aligning exercises for both mind and soul, with the aid of aromatherapy, easing you into a deep state of relaxation. For this specific event, the practice will be moved from the yoga space to the window front area so you can enjoy our beautiful downtown view, as well as the sunset.
