If I were to ask you -- what brings you back to your strength, your balance, your ease when "life happens," what would you tell me?
My Yoga practice started out of desperation -- I was doing "good work" (aren't most of us?) at a humane society out West, trying to re-home just one more dog, cat, ferret, etc ... and in full burnout. I experienced panic attacks, lack of sleep, and a slide back into disordered eating. I wanted to "exercise," yet also needed some stress relief -- so I searched for a yoga video on YouTube.
Today, twelve years into my practice, I continue to explore and add to my toolbox ... to return to balance, to feel good in my body/mind, to
s l o w d o w n in a society that values endless productivity over well-being.
My goal in sharing Yoga: To facilitate empowering practices that strengthen the body, soothe the nervous system and balance the mind.
I was trained and continue to study at The Himalayan Institute. I studied with Prison Yoga Project, Accessible Yoga, Tracee Stanley, and currently study Yoga philosophy with Luvena Rangel.
Off the mat, I enjoy time outdoors hiking & camping all over the country with my husband Jim & two rescue dogs, Baxter & Tortilla. People are surprised by the adventurous jobs I've had ;). I take way too many pictures of my dogs, sneak dark chocolate whenever I can, and I love to garden. If the simple things of life inspire you, if slowing to the pace of Nature calls to you, we will get along famously ;)
